CONGENITAL INTESTINAL LYMPHANGIECTASIA CASE REPORT AT THANH HOA CHILDREN’S HOSPITAL

Abstract

Primary intestinal lymphangiectasia is a rare condition, characterized by increased intestinal protein loss,clinical manifestation of edema, moderate diarrhea, hypoproteinemia, lymphopenia, malabsorption of vitamins and fat, dilated lymphatic vessels in the small intestine. The case reported was the fi rst PIL at Thanh Hoa Children’s Hospital. The diagnosis was confi rmed with colonoscopy and pathology results, patient was treated with albumin infusion, a fat-reducing diet and medium-chain triglyceride supplementation in combination with octretide.
