Abstract

IgA vasculitis (IgAV) or Scholein Henoch purpura is a systemic vasculitis, characterized by a classic tetrad of nonthrombocytopenic palpable purpura. The disease affected the small blood vessels of four major organs: skin, joints, digestive system, and kidneys. Scholein Henoch purpura occurs mainly in children. Gastrointestinal bleeding is one of the severe manifestations of gastrointestinal damage in IgA vasculitis, which can be life-threatening if not treated promptly. Recommendations for the treatment of IgA vasculitis presenting with gastrointestinal  damage almost based on the circumstances of the patients in different countries. Therefore, doctors need to rely on general principles to apply to each individual. Studies of severe gastrointestinal injury in IgA vasculitis are mostly series cases. We report a IgA vasculitis patient presenting with colon ulcer and severe gastrointestinal bleeding who was successfully treated by single dose cyclophosphamide
