Abstract
The new ACR/EULAR APS classification criteria have introduced a classification and scoring system that includes nonthrombotic clinical manifestations, reducing the time to appear aPL to 3 years compared to the revised Sapporo criteria. However, some patients have clinical features of APS but with temporary positive and persistently negative titers of aPL, so the definition of seronegative APS (SN – APS) has been proposed and diagnosis is usually made by exclusion. Therefore, in this article, we provide new updates, evaluate the effectiveness of the ACR/EULAR criteria as well as present evidence on researched criteria-free aPL, and their relationship with clinical features in the setting of APS and seronegative APS.
